DASH? Narrative

My Reflection

I am learning to write a  Narrative using a DASH?  I am proud of my good detail that I put into my Adventure story.  It was easy because I knew what I was writing and I was inspired by my favourite video game. My next step is to focus on correct speech mark punctuation.

Art Exhibition

I am proud of all of my friends beautiful arts including mine,but I also love the colours I used and the way I drew my flower.

Geometry - Polyhedra

My Reflection

I am learning to construct models of a polyhedra.  It was tricky to try and make an Icosahedron.  But Claire helped me to build a octahedron.  I can explain the features of a Polyhedron.  Next time I will construct another polyhedron.

Authors Purpose

My Reflection
I am learning to identify what the authors purpose is.
It was easy to find out what the authors because the illustrations helped. I also read text carefully, My next learning step is to identify the authors purpose in non - fictoins books

Stream Walk And Clean Up

My Reflection
I am learning to use a variety of types of sentences to make my writing more interesting.
I can now use some different of types of sentences. Next I will use sentences that begin with adverbs.

Radial Relief Art

I am proud of this art because I think this is a simple and not to complicated shape and it was still symmetrical at the same time. I also think its beautiful.

My Mathletics Award

My Reflection
I am proud of earning my mathletics gold certificate because it was my goal in year three and four.

Fractions

My Reflection

I am learning to find fractions of a set by equal sharing.  I am able to use skip counting to solve these problems. My next step is use multiplication facts to solve these problems. 

Interpreting Graphic Features

MY REFLECTION
I am learning to understand information by interpreting graphic features.
It was a little bit tricky because  I had to read the text and the cross-section to find information.
My next step is to look carefully at the graphic features in other texts as it helps me to understand.

Persuasive Writing

MY REFLECTION
I am learning persuasive writing. I wrote a good introduction with a good hook. Next I will try to use better linking words.

Compost

I am learning to write an explanation.I think I did well at enplaning my explanation writing. My next step is to use sequence words.

Bike Skills

                                  I love bike skills because its really fun and they teach you how to ride a bike and how to do tricks.  

                                 

Making Predictions

My Reflection
I am learning to make justified predictions by scanning the cover, blurb and title and  the pictures helped me. I found it tricky to give a reason for my answer to my prediction.Next I will try to make predictions with other stories.

Extending Vocabulary

My Reflection
I am learning to extend my knowledge of new vocabulary. I can now identify the meaning of new words. Next , I will try to work out the meaning of vocabulary by reading the rest of the sentence.

Near Doubles

I am learning to use my knowledge of doubles to work out problems near doubles.

I found this easy because I know my doubles.

My next step is to learn my halves.

Explanation Writing

My Reflection   

I am learning how to write an explanation , I can describe the routine / event.  My next step is to write a more complicated and more detailed explanation.

I am learning to summarise  information. This learning was tricky because I found it difficult write in my own words. My next step is to summarise other texts.

I am learning the parts of a graph.  It was tricky because it was new learning.The slide show helped me with this learning.  My next steps would be to practice  creating my own graphs.

My Welcome Post 2018

Welcome to my learning blog this year I am in Rm 23.  My Teacher is Mrs Venter.  My goal is that this year I want to achieve my personal best, and be the best I can be. I'm looking forward to going to TeTuhi this term.  I hope you enjoy my blog.  Please leave feedback.
